The Willow Tree Why

At Willow Tree, we are a community who values creativity, whatever form that takes and however it manifests itself. Art fosters experimentation more than many other subjects do. It gives children the freedom and choice to create something that is unique to them. We believe a high-quality art and design education should engage, inspire and challenge pupils, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. As pupils progress, they will be able to think critically and develop a more rigorous understanding of art and design. They should also know how art and design both reflect and shape our history, and contribute to the culture, creativity and wealth of our nation. As you cannot create from nothing – creativity is knowledge + imagination - we aspire to give our children as many opportunities to expand and explore their imagination whilst teaching them the knowledge and skills to let them express this creativity.
